Our Sales and Install Process

“I want to buy a hot tub.”

Sounds easy, right?

Learning about the wide-ranging health and wellness benefits of owning a hot tub and then deciding to buy one is easy. It’s exciting, and you can see yourself sipping that first glass of wine in the sun while the warm water flows gently across your body.

But what does buying a Hydropool spa actually look like?

You might be imagining ripping off your clothes Clark Kent-style as soon as it arrives, revealing the new swimming costume you bought for your home-dip-debut!

Or perhaps you’re starting to have visions of an alternative, yet possible scenario – getting the phone call to say your spa has arrived, rushing out your house all excited for the beginning of a better life, then seeing your hot tub still completely wrapped from transport, plonked on the end of your driveway on a couple of wooden planks.

Two guys hop out of a truck wearing hi-visibility jackets (and perhaps hard hats because why not), wave some paperwork in your face, and get back into their truck and drive off.

Now what?

The stages of looking for a hot tub and actually getting into it for the first time can seem worlds apart. With a life-changing purchase like this, you might expect hurdles and hiccups along the way that ironically make an end goal of relaxation very stressful.

At Hydropool Devon we take all the stress out of owning one of the best hot tubs in the world with attentive, personal customer service that lives up to the renowned worldwide reputation of our products.

In this blog, we are going to talk you through each step of the process when buying a hot tub or swim spa from Hydropool Devon so you know exactly what to expect each step of the way.

The Sales Process

Seeing as you’re reading this, you have made your way to our website. This is where most people come to check out what all the HydroHype is about! We are constantly adding more information about all our product ranges so you can do as much research as you like and download a brochure through our website.

After browsing our ranges or doing our Spa Requirements Quiz (found on our homepage and main hot tubs page) you might have an idea of which range could be right for you. Having an idea of what you’re looking for can be helpful for you but it is not completely necessary as our dedicated team are here to help you find your dream spa 7 days a week.

Listening to Your Requirements

The first thing our friendly wellness advisors will do is ask you some questions about your specific requirements and what you’re looking to get out of your ideal spa. Our staff are trained to know pretty much everything about Hydropool spas and have plenty of experience of working with countless unique circumstances, so this is the time where you get to specify your requirements, however specific or vague they might be, so we can start narrowing down the choice together.

We will ask you about where you plan to have the hot tub so we can also talk through the amount of space you have and how everything could work best. You might be planning to put your spa on decking or have it sunken in, so we will work through the logistics of this.

Our sister company, Riviera Decking can help with any groundworks that need to be done to get your setup exactly how you want it. However, if you have your own tradespeople that you want to do the work we won’t pressure you in any way, rather, we are happy to cooperate with your chosen workers to help make things as smooth as possible for you.

Free Wet Test (If You Fancy)

At Hydropool we talk a good show. We tell you about how our hydrotherapy features separate us from the rest because you can’t feel them yourself through a computer screen or a brochure, but we are proud to offer free no-obligation wet testing for those of you that might still think a hot tub is a hot tub! They say a Hydropool spa FEELS DIFFERENT, and we are more than happy for you to find out for yourself before you decide to move forward.

A quick word of warning, though – Once you step into one of our spas, you’re likely to feel some frustration that you:

  1. Have to get out at some point
  2. Can’t take that our wet test model back to your house there and then, even if you can get yours within a couple of weeks.

Find Your Payment Plan

Once we have an idea of the type of spa you are looking for we will go through the different payment options available to you. Possible options are buy now pay later, 0% finance, and 5 or 10 year payment plans. You can find our hot tub pay monthly payment plans here.

At this stage we will do a soft search to see if you might be eligible for a longer term payment plan using a soft search that will not affect your credit score. This will help you understand what your budget permits so you can continue to plan knowing the payment has been taken care of.

Stress-Free Delivery Planning

By this stage, we have got a gauge of your property and what is required to install your spa. Here, we will decide on the best method of delivery and install.

We deliver your spa ourselves – no contract couriers in high-vis jackets – so we will work with you to find the best solution.

In some instances where there is limited access, such as when installing a hot tub in Exeter, a hi-ab or even a crane may be required to lower your spa down into position. This is nothing to worry about, though, as we will make all the arrangements on our side for a successful and stress-free install.

Booking Your Install Date

If the model you settle on is currently in stock, we will be able to set the agreed install date for the very near future if you are ready. We can of course set a date for the future for whatever reasons you have. Occasionally, our clients have ongoing projects that need to be completed first, so we can adjust your install date to accommodate for these demands.

Install dates are agreed between you and us collaboratively, as opposed to us telling you a date and expecting you to be ready! Our number one aim is to make this process as easy for you as possible.

Why make getting to a relaxing goal so stressful?

Making Payment

There are various methods of payment depending on which payment option you decide upon. Some of our clients pay the full price upfront, and this is fine.

Most clients, however, have some kind of payment plan in place. One of the most popular methods of payment is our Buy Now Pay Later plan. This effectively gives you 12 months from your install date to pay the balance at 0% interest before interest begins to accrue. We do offer 2 years 0% interest, and long-term payment plans up to 10 years, which you can read more about here.

When officially purchasing your spa, we will take an initial deposit from you, depending on what is required in your chosen payment plan. This can be as little as £99, which is the deposit for our popular Buy Now Pay Later plan.

Paying for a spa you don’t even have yet is unfair. When entering into a finance agreement, the arrangement only begins after the date of your installation, not the date of purchase. In some of our payment plans, there is a deferral period of 3 months, meaning 3 months after your install date will pass before you start paying your monthly installments.

This deferral period allows you to already have made a considerable difference to your mental and physical health before you even start paying for your new state of wellbeing.

After completing your purchase, we will make sure you have all the information you need to know exactly what will be happening next, including pre-delivery instructions that allow for a quick and easy install.

Note that these requirements are not extensive, and at the minimum only require:

  1. A flat, level base for the hot tub to sit on.
  2. A rotary insulator fitted.
  3. A 20/32amp energy supply.
  4. Obstructions removed.

From your discussions with your wellness advisor, you will be made aware of any unique pre-install instructions in advance.

You will also receive a chemicals guide as part of your welcome package so you can look after your spa to keep it in perfect working condition once you receive it, with informational videos and guides to help you get the most out of your spa.

At the install, you will be given demonstrations of using your spa by our friendly Hydropool technicians. You are invited to record these demonstrations for your own reference in the future.

Delivery and Install

By the time you have paid a deposit you will have already had discussions about how the delivery process and install will work, and you’ll have written confirmation that you can refer to in your pre-install instructions.

If there are works that need to be completed on-site before the installation date, you will know exactly what they are and be offered assistance in completing them.

If you need any assistance, our sister and partner companies are able to take care of pretty much anything in the lead-up to your hot tub installation. These services will be offered to you at the time, but you are under no obligation to accept any pre-install preparation services from us or our partners!

Working with Your Team

When buying hot tubs in Devon, it is likely that one or two adjustments will need to be made to your current setup, including electrical wiring. While we can connect you with an electrician that we work closely with and trust, we are more than happy for you to make arrangements on your side to work with your existing tradespeople.

We will cooperate with your chosen professionals to ensure they have all of the information they need to make the installation process easy for you.

Regular Updates

Before you decide on a spa, we will of course inform you which ones are in stock and/or when they are available. If we don’t currently have your desired spa ready to install and you are happy to wait a while, our team will provide regular updates on the progress of your order, along with an estimated delivery date.

All Hydropool spas are manufactured in Canada, so while ETAs are subject to change due to factors out of our local control, we endeavour to be consistently transparent and provide you with all of the information we have as we get it, never leaving you in the dark.

Install Day

Our delivery comes with installation and setup included.

This will include:

  • Delivery of the spa to its final location
  • Unpackaging of the spa
  • Disposal of spa packaging
  • Filling with water
  • Connecting to the electricity supply
  • In-person demonstrations and tutorials to make sure you get the most out of your spa

We want our clients to get the maximum enjoyment out of their spa, so we invite you to video record our in-person demonstrations so you can refer to them later if you need them.

You can be sure that there will be no/minimal mess left behind for you to clear up, so when you buy a Hydropool spa you can confidently prepare yourself for your best Clark Kent impression that we mentioned earlier, if you so wish!

Sign and Go!

As you now know, we do not start your payment agreement until the hot tub has been installed at your property. Once everything is set up and you are happy, there will be one more signature required to confirm the start of the agreement.

This is the form we send off to Novuna, our credit partners, to confirm that you are happy for the agreement to begin. Again, if you would like more information about our range of payment plans available, you can read about them and see representative examples here.

Aftersales Care and Service

If you’ll still have us, we’re not quite done there!

Hydropool began as a family-run business that developed close relationships with its clients and looked after them. This company ethos has continued until today, with real people sharing their knowledge and offering any assistance before, during, and after the sales process.

We know that purchasing a Hydropool spa is a considerable, albeit worthwhile, investment. With over 40 years of manufacturing experience, we are confident that you won’t have any issues with your spa and will be highly satisfied with your choice.

This doesn’t mean that we won’t check on you to see how it’s going, though. If there are any initial concerns that you have or any advice you might need to get the maximum enjoyment out of your investment, your wellness advisor will always be on hand to help.

Our showrooms are open 7 days a week with full-time customer service staff on-site, so there will always be someone around to answer any questions or queries you have – no matter how big or small.

In the extremely unlikely event of there being any problems arising from the installation process, just let us know and we will rectify them as soon as possible. This will of course be free of charge!

Warranty and Peace of Mind

We have various guarantees of up to 10 years for different elements of your spa, with all parts under warranty for 3 years from the install date, meaning they will be replaced for free during this period. In the first 12 months of owning your spa, warranty callouts and labour are also completely free.

This period gives you time to notice any small issues that are beginning to arise and let us know so we can put them right. Due to the nature of the product, issues are often noticeable as you might feel differing sensations from the jets. This helps you identify when there is an issue and fix it before it gets worse.

From experience, if there are no noticeable problems within 12 months, it’s highly likely that there are no manufacturing defects, the installation process has not caused any issues, and you shouldn’t expect anything to go wrong in the near future.

As with all electrical appliances, though, some problems do occur over time. That’s why for your peace of mind we supply free replacement parts and pumps under warranty for 3 years from the install date.

For a full breakdown of our guarantees, contact our team on 01803 872666.

You Might Be Wondering…

With the current economic climate, many people are worried about their bills. Due to hot tubs and swim spas requiring energy to run, you may want to consider how much a hot tub costs to run in the UK.

In this post, we have broken down how much you can expect to pay to run a Hydropool hot tub in the long run, with comparisons to our competitors.
