What is the PureWater Purification System?

The Hydropool PureWater system is a patented, natural water purification system that elimimates 99% of contaminants whenever the hot tub or swim spa is running and reduces chemical usage by 50%. It is the smartest, safest, and easiest way to keep your crystal clear and safe for your family.

Let’s talk a bit more about what exactly it is and how the science behind it works.

How Does the PureWater System Work?

The PureWater system uses Ozone as well as UV-C to oxidise and purify the water to make it the most efficient purification system in the world.

Water passes through our patented Micro Cell, treating it with Ozone which oxidises the water. The Ozone-treated water then passes through an ultraviolet light chamber which exposes it to a high volume of UV-C light to purify it even further. The process is done automatically and is not energy intensive, meaning it does not significantly affect energy usage.

The advanced dual-purification system eliminates 99% of contaminants and removes any calcium or biofilm inside the pipes. This reduces the need to shock your spa water with additional chemicals tasked to oxidise the water.

The PureWater system is automatic and is always on when your spa is circulating water. It’s really easy to check that things are in proper working order, too. All you have to do is check the Quick Diagnostics on your control panel.

Is The Technology Likely to Go Wrong?

The PureWater system is extremely reliable and accounts for a minuscule percentage of our warranty repairs.

Benefits of PureWater

  • Stop eye irritation caused by Cl2 (Chlorine) and Br2 (Bromine).
  • Reduced manual maintenance.
  • Decreased chemical costs.
  • Reliable.
  • Quick Diagnostics to check everything is in working order.

What is ‘Shocking’ the Water?

Sanitisers like chlorine or bromine attach themselves to contaminants and become ‘used’. Over time, this leaves what are known as chloramines in the water. These cause your spa water to look cloudy, unappealing, and dirty as they are essentially particles of bacteria and sanitiser bonded together.

Shocking water oxidises it. This kills bacteria and can also reactivate sanitisers like chlorine or bromine by ‘freeing’ their molecules from being attached to contaminants when they go through the filtration system.

This can reduce the frequency of having to add sanitiser and/or reduce the amount you have to put in each time. However, like any spa, you will still need to rebalance your chemicals to keep it free from bacteria.

What Models Come with the PureWater System?

The PureWater system comes as standard in signature self-cleaning hot tubs and swim spas. It is an optional extra on bespoke order Serenity range hot tubs.
